  • Build Applications: A few years ago I really started noticing how poor of quality commercial rods were starting to get. Manufactures have moved to using cheaper components and guides and practically none of the. Even think about building a rod on the spine of the blank. The rods are also often build in another country and shipped here for re sale. I also noticed many serious anglers didn’t need a full blown custom rod but would come to me to build the same over and over just in a plain version. I took this and came up with he idea to creat a new business model that would allow us to build rods with the attributes and quality of components a custom rod has but available in a production line of rods that customers could purchase at will in their local tackle shops. As well we still do quite a bit of customized rods based on our rod line. Any rod in our line up can be customized.l for those who wish something a little more flashy or simply built to their specifications. We specialize in light tackle inshore saltwater rods as well as Bass, Snakehead and Panfish rods.
  • Price Range: Our prices start in the low $200 range for our production rods and go up from there. Custom rods cost a bit more but are priced on a case by case basis.
  • Production Capacity: Being a small batch production rod company we build many more rods than the average rod builder. We’ve also designed a lot of our own equipment to increase production but still keep the quality of a custom rod. We currently build about 1000 rods per year.

If the new rod needs shipped back please include a check for $30. From the 91st- 365th day of purchase if your rod breaks we will replace the rod for %50 of the cost of a new rod in the same model.

I see that most buyers do want the quality components and will spend the extra money on the best!

We can easily handle the larger 30-40 piece rod sets and we usually will have 5-10 large sets like this moving through our production line at any given time along with 200 other orders. It is pretty common and what we do daily here at the rod shop.
  • Lead Time: I have learned over the many years making custom rods….. I tell the customers 2-3 months on average for anything custom. If things run extra smoothly, and we get the order ready a few weeks faster we are HEROS! We currently carry over 8000 rods in stock, ready to ship so if the customer is in a hurry they can easily select rods from our stock and it can ship that same day!

I like to hear the story on how the rod broke, get all the details I can, and then make a decision on how to proceed. I find most of my customers are honest and understanding when they high stick or misuse a rod. Even then I will offer to sell them a new rod at my cost which they appreciate.
