Albacore Tuna Fishing with Team Rainshadow and Far Corners Sportfishing
Enjoy some of this year's albacore madness. Live bait stops plus big albacore tuna equal good times.
Batson Enterprises is located on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, and we are blessed to be able to take advantage of some world-class fisheries. Every summer from July through September, warm currents move north up the Pacific Ocean's continental shelf bringing with them many thousands of highly sought-after albacore tuna. During these special months, albacore can be as close as 25 miles offshore, putting them in striking distance of day trip charters and smaller recreational watercraft. Albacore typically weigh between 15 and 35 pounds with the larger fish arriving later in the summer. Each September the Batson family and staff take a trip to the town of Westport, WA to visit our friend and long-time Team Rainshadow pro staff charter captain Darrell Johnson, owner of Far Corners Sportfishing. Far Corners is a full-service inshore/offshore ocean fishing charter featuring large comfortable boats, experienced captains and deckhands, and wall to wall custom Rainshadow rods. Darrell's go-to rod builds for tuna and bottom fish are the Rainshadow vertical jig models RCKJB700-250 and RCKJB700-325, as well as the Rainshadow Bulletproof RX4 series for salmon trips.
Check out the video above to see what albacore fishing is all about, and watch our Rainshadow custom rods in action. If you're interested in booking an albacore trip for next summer, or creating rods for this type of fishery don't hesitate to reach out to the Batson sales staff here. Fish On..!
